Tribute from Daughter-in-Law, Priscilla
Legacy of Jagathamba Govender 02-Mar-1935 to 13-Apr-2007
A LEGACY OF TENACITY, FAITHFULNESS, FORGIVENESS, MERCY, TRUTH, ENDURANCE, TRUST, STAMINA, BOLDNESS, INTEGRITY...
I am blessed to have known you even before entering your home as a daughter-in-law. For as far back as I can remember your heart has always been as big as the ocean. Whenever I was in your presence, you always made me feel like one of your own girls. You’ve taught me so much and the love that I now have for the Supreme Queen Arthie Parashakthie is because of you.
When I was young and stumbling, you nurtured the faith that you saw in me. When everyone else was busy in their lives, you encouraged me and showed me, through your life what a good and mighty God we serve. You taught me that my faith in God will give me the tenacity and determination to get a firm grip on every crack and crevice of life and this will lift me to another level. Words cannot express how grateful I am, to be a part of your family.
She told me of how as a very young girl she was a willing and serving child of God. She taught me that while you enjoy the mountain top experiences with God, there are many hurting valley of tears. Today I am saddened that my children are not fortunate enough to have their Grand Mother around for a little while longer, to teach them what she taught me. Yet I am confident that they will be well reminded that their grandmother was a very special and unique woman, who never gave up, even when life was steep and rugged, she persevered and pursued her course with great faith and determination.
The sweet and gentle fragrance of this flower of God still lingers in the nostrils of all who crossed her path. Though sometimes the petals are pulled off a flower, leaving pain in its wake, the sweet fragrance from a crushed petal always rises up. This was the life of my dear mother-in-law.
When sickness invaded her body and it seemed like now this flower was crushed, what rose up once again, was not a foul smelling revenge of anger or unbelief BUT rather the sweet scent of her FAITH and trust in The God of The Most High - Arthie Parashakthie, who has complete control - THE MORE THE CRUSHING, THE MORE THE FRAGRANCE!
We do not see this flower any longer but her fragrant aroma cannot be ignored! Thank you for caring and sharing.
GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN
Your daughter-in-law, Priscilla
